Mani, though he's not great, he atleast makes movies about his sorroundings. Even a rowdy character in mani's filims are so unnatural, because he doesn't connect with such characters.

based on this, you can say both of them have their own styles, but not one is great than the other.

SSR and Mani have one thing in common. both of them are not original, and their characters they create are annoying.

 

Mani's movies used to have characters, all of which talked like people he knew. Doesn't matter what the movie is about, those characters are constant in his movies. In a way, he's projecting himself into all his characters. He changed a little bit now, and is suffering from identity crisis anuko.

 

SSR's characters are derived from movies, and you can't relate to a single character as realistic. All of them are forced and annoying.

he said, its not his job to make sure the film reaches maximum audience. Its the producer's job. His movie was not allowed to be screened in Chennai for several reasons.

 

that director will find producer even today if he wants to make a movie. He has that kind of cult following in Chennai.

even you know we both are talking about two different things.

 

poni, nee argument ke ochaanu anuko. My original post is still right. since charan is already good at playing all those over the top mass characters, won't he benefit if he starred in mani's film?

 

it may give him a new perspective on acting. which mani is better positioned to give him now, since he's already done the kind of films SSR does.
