I had the same situation bro...Customs and Border protection ki call cheste na I94 renew chesesadu I didnt have to go outside and come back....

Okka saari phone cheste CBP office ki ravali annaru, vellanu kaani chese atanu ledu call cheyyi next day pani ayyipotundi annaru... next day call chesanu renew chesesadu instantly and he did not ask for my passport.

Go to Nearest DIS with all docs i797,i94,Old & New PP.

 

They will fix it.

i just called them,i was told deferred inspection site can fix it only if recently entry into the Country was with in 30 days.Other wise need to schedule an appointment with USCIS.will explore more
