tennisluvr Posted February 23, 2016 Report Posted February 23, 2016 This thread is for people who have misconceptions about MAVNI. Let me explain some key points about MAVNI: 1) MAVNI is a specialized program for those that already have atleast a Bachelor's degree in the US or higher. 2) MAVNI is only the name of the program which accepts people that aren't naturalized citizens of the USA or permanent residents(GC holders) 3) Once you are selected via MAVNI you are like any other regular soldier in the US Army and would have to abide by the rules and regulations of the US Army. 4) People that join via MAVNI either through Active Duty or Reserve Duty know the dangers associated with being deployed in an active combat zone, this is very clearly mentioned by your recruiting Sergeant at the time of recruitment itself. 5) If you don't have the basic courtesy to respect soldiers that fight for the nation that you are currently living in and enjoying the benefits of, you are better off being dead. You should strongly consider killing yourself as you are no different from a terrorist. This particularly refers to one of the scumbags that called people enlisting via MAVNI as freeloaders. I would love to see his stupid ass say that when a soldier that joined via MAVNI is deployed in an active combat zone. 6) People that disrespect those that enlist via MAVNI are usually those that don't even respect the soldiers of that nation they call their own. They usually come from families that have no respect from soldiers yet would piss in their pants when a war occurs. 7) If you aren't physically and mentally in shape to withstand stress or the rigors of a disciplined life, MAVNI is not for you. You won't even be selected, or even worse you would be thrown out during bootcamp.

So I wanted to be a soldier earlier as well, and I tried to get into NDA and barely lost out. That said the option to be a part of the US Army didn't exist earlier it exists now. What's your problem if some people avail that opportunity?? It's not like they are treated with kid gloves, I repeat. EVERY SOLDIER GOES THROUGH THE SAME BASIC COMBAT TRAINING AND IS ALWAYS PREPARED TO BE READY IN CASE OF A WAR, YOU AREN'T GIVEN ANY SPECIAL PREFERENCE BECAUSE OF YOUR AGE OR THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE A FAMILY THAT'S AFRAID OF YOU GOING TO WAR.
