I don't think so. privilege is not about the individual, but about him 'belonging'. Even a lower caste guy can make the shift to higher social status, if he cracks the code on how to 'belong' there. For eg. what happened to the recent nobel prize winner Pachauri, after he was accused of sexual harassment. The guy is rich, famous, but the people around him won't think twice about cutting him off and denying him basic human decency. This tyranny of the herd is far worse than anything an individual is capable of doing. And often this tyranny is couched in self righteousness. On things like nationalism, etc.

So I understand why they get pissed off when I keep referring to them as assholes. I know you guys worked hard to 'belong', but it doesn't bother me. I'm laughing at your entire structure. Not just you.
