if there are unwanted dots, then use SSIS , REPLACE function and replace them with empty string.

to use ssis replace function which is a transformation, he should be able to use it via flat file source nooo man.. he is sayina truncation is happening... which will fail in flat file extraction itself which is the first step...

Screw loose man, what is the delimiter for the file (comma) , if so can your data also have a comma?? By default sql gives 50 characters string.. change it to 8000 and see, if that doesn't work I believe we should use a c# script which will make it work without any issues man..
