Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

-Support 4000+ physical and virtual Windows Servers across geographically disperse data centers.

-Support VMware and Hyper-V infrastructure.

-Support Cisco UCS and Client Blade system Infrastructure.

-Work with application teams to gather requirements and architect solutions

-Evaluate, write up, and plan implementation of new technologies.

-Automate existing and new processes through the use of orchestration and scripting.

-Develop and publish documents and procedures for GEICO's hardware, virtual, and physical hardware.

A minimum of three years of experience in following:

-Experience with Windows Servers, Active Directory Management, Virtualization Technologies

-Experience with Cisco UCS based Infrastructure

-Experience with VMware vCenter and vSphere in a large infrastructure

-Knowledge of Server hardware and technologies (Rack/Blade/UCS)

-Strong understanding of Networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, sub netting, TCP/IP)

-Strong scripting or programming background

-Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

-Strong communication and project management skills

-Ability to work independently with limited supervision

 

-Bachelor's Degree in IT related field or IT related course load and working towards a degree -Over 3 years Systems Administration experience

-Industry Certification (Microsoft/VMware) is a plus, but not required

Desired Skills: - Knowledge of Windows Failover Clustering, VMware vCenter, and Microsoft Virtual Machine Manager - Knowledge of PowerShell, VMware Orchestrator, Microsoft Orchestrator, and Puppet - Knowledge of Linux server technologies - Knowledge of SAN and Enterprise Storage technologies - Knowledge of server hardware and technologies (e.g. rack, blade, NAS, etc.) - Knowledge of .NET programming languages (e.g. C#, Visual Basic, ASP, etc.) is a plus - Industry certification (e.g. Windows, VMware, Cisco, etc.) is a plus Linux Infrastructure Engineer The required qualifications are: - Experience implementing & supporting enterprise-class Linux Servers and Virtualization Technologies - Experience with Linux OS builds, installation and configuration - Experience with industry standard blade/rack platforms. - Strong automation and orchestration background - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills - Scripting or programming background is a plus - Good understanding of Operating Systems security - Excellent communication and project management skills - Good understanding of Networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, sub netting, TCP/IP) - Ability to work independently with limited supervision and within and across teams Desirable Qualifications: - Industry Certification (Linux/VMware) is a plus - Knowledge of Centrify, SUSE Manager and Puppet - Knowledge of Windows Server Technologies - Knowledge of SAN and Enterprise Storage Technologies - Knowledge of Server hardware and technologies (Rack/Blade/UCS) - Knowledge Active Directory and LDAP
