Happy news is Java is outdated in Analytics World.Nobody is preferring Java now..I mean all the existing applications will eventually move into scala or with python. So if u r preferring to learn map-reduce..try in Python or learn Spark(either in Scala or Python) And also important thing is visualization(ggplot2,tableau or qlikview) All the Best
