The Ministry of External Affairs has released a press note stating that the ration card should not be used for applying the Passport by clarifying that the ration card cannot be considered as an ID proof or the address proof for the passport. The press release mentioned that this would come in to effect from 1 st April 2016 onwards. Watch for more.
