hydKaSher Posted March 21, 2016 Report Posted March 21, 2016 Telanganites from across the globe will participate in the first ever Global Telangana Convention to be held at Dallas, Texas from June 3 to 5. The event is being organised by the Telangana Development Forum (TDF) with the active help of Telangana organisations in the USA. “We are inviting Telangana Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao and officials apart from the UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who were both instrumental in the formation of Telangana State,” said Vishweshwar Kalavala, president TDF-USA. “The invitations would be extended during our visit to India in April.” A kick-off meeting attended by over 100 delegates from various city chapters in USA was held in Dallas to raise funds, plan and execute the convention successfully. “We are the single largest Telangana organisation representing the community overseas. We have various programmes conceptualised and being executed by TDF already like Jai Kisan project. We have many more projects to take up and exchange ideas,” explained Mr. Kalavala. About 5,000 people from across the globe are expected to participate in the event, said TDF-USA General Secretary Praveen Kesireddy. “We have delegates showing interest to attend this leadership summit from all over US, Canada, UK, Israel, Australia and Gulf countries. Texas has a very vibrant Telangana community in the US and they will play a huge role in its success.” “About 50 committees are being formed involving professionals, women, college students,” remarked Sharada Cultural Chair of TDF USA. Telangana Development Forum (TDF-USA) is a Not-for-Profit organization (501 (C) (3) # 22-3674333), founded in 1999 to provide platform for the people of Telangana state (29th State of India) for various development and cultural activities. (It does not have any caste based affiliations to any single group, so all are welcome)
