Discover Card members will sign up to earn 5% Cashback Bonus on up to $1,500 in purchases at Amazon.com, Department Stores and Sam's Club from October through December 2016.

I never saw a 5% cashback at sam's club from Discover.

The reconsideration process: don't worry and give up when your application is rejected with discover. There is a work around. When a credit card issuer declines to grant an applicant an account, it is required by law to provide a reason. And thankfully, most card issuers are willing to hear an appeal. Applicants can simply contact their bank’s reconsideration line and speak with a representative about their application. The representative may override the decision then, or at least give the applicant the chance to provide more information with which to reconsider the application.
