U can work until 3 months while opt extension in progress without issues till the card is issued upon approval.

If they allow her to work, why is she worried? Their legal department might have some policies. My colleague had same problem, so client asked her to take leave until it gets approved

They might ask you to leave if you don't submit approval ....big companies don't care about the rules ...they will ask for proper status ...I faced this problem for my wife...
