The jurisdiction of University extends up to the entire State of Assam with the regard to teaching, research & extension education in a field of the agriculture & allied sciences. Assam Agricultural University (AAU) is the only the educational centre in world which offer a comprehensive four-year degree program in the Agriculture with specialization in  a Tea Husbandry & Technology (THT), which covers all over the entire gamut of a tea cultivation, production &marketing. The Faculty of the Agriculture offers the subjects like B.Sc., M.Sc. & Ph.D. degree courses. The Faculty of the Home Science offers B.Sc. & M.Sc. degree programs in all the departments & a Ph.D. degree program in the Food & Nutrition only.
