The (ANGRAU) Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University is the public Agricultural University with its headquarters located at Guntur of an Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The university was recognised on 12 June in 1964, with O. Pula Reddy as its first vice-chancellor. It was formally inaugurated on the 20 March 1965, by the Lal Bahadur Shastri, then the Prime Minister of India in Hyderabad. The University was name again as Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University on the November 7th 1996 in the honour & memory of an outstanding Parliamentarian Acharya N.G. Ranga, who was rendered remarkable selfless service for cause of farmers & is regarded as the outstanding educationist, kisan leader & freedom fighter.
