పనుల వేగాన్ని రెట్టింపుకంటే అధికం చేసేందుకు వీలుగా భారీ యంత్ర సామగ్రిని కాంట్రాక్టు సంస్థలు సిద్ధం చేశాయి. ఒకేసారిలో 35 క్యూబిక్‌ మీటర్ల మట్టిని తవ్వి తీసే(12 ట్రక్కుల లోడు) ఎక్స్‌కవేటర్‌ను జర్మనీ నుంచి ప్రత్యేకంగా తీసుకొచ్చారు. దీన్ని సీఎం చేతుల మీదగా నేడు ప్రారంభిస్తారు. గంటకు 1500 క్యూబిక్‌ మీటర్ల చొప్పున ఈ యంత్రం మట్టి తీయగలుగుతుంది. 280 టన్నుల మట్టిని ఒకేసారి డంపింగ్‌ యార్డుకు తరలించే సామర్థ్యంగల 5 డంపర్లను కూడా తీసుకొచ్చారు. ప్రధాన కాంట్రాక్టు సంస్థ ట్రాన్ససా్ట్రయ్‌తోసహా ఇతర ఉప కాంట్రాక్టు సంస్థలు ఇప్పటికే రోజుకు 60,000 నుంచి 70,000 క్యూబిక్‌ మీటర్ల వరకూ మట్టి పనులు చేపడుతున్నాయి. వాటికి తోడు ఈ యంత్రమూ తోడయితే.. పనులు వాయువేగంతో పూర్తవుతాయని అధికారులు చెబుతున్నారు. ప్రాజెక్టులో కీలకమైన స్పిల్‌వే, డయాఫ్రమ్‌ వాల్‌ నిర్మాణంపైనే ఇక పూర్తి శ్రద్ధ పెట్టనున్నారు.
