GunturMirchiBajji Posted February 6, 2017 Report Posted February 6, 2017 Buy modem and router separately. Check with your Internet and TV service providers and they will have the list of compatible modems. Quote

kakatiya Posted February 6, 2017 Report Posted February 6, 2017 as a network engineer I will suggest you to buy dlink modem and dlink router separately. also make sure they are DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem | D-Link if you are using a cable link that sends both internet and cable signals.  make sure they are dual band. 2.4 ghz will get interruption from Bluetooth devices etc.  I don't suggest arris from Motorola, net gear (software bugs) or linkysis routers.  You cant get routers / modems for the price you mentione. minimum 180$ padtudhi together.  Ps:I actually connect my xbox , and laptops etc via cable. I am not big fan of wireless. If you are independent home owner run the rj 45 cables. Wireless antennas modems continuously have to transmit signals and they require energy to radiate signals, they tend to get heated. So once I a while turn off your wireless radios , when you are going for a vacation, turn off the entire equipment. At end of day they are electronic equipment and needs some rest and downtime. Quote
