Australia lead by 298 and on a pitch where India lost seven for 11 earlier in the day to be bowled out for 105. The pitch is offering plenty to the spinners, especially those willing to bowl quick and into it. Flighting the ball isn't quite a necessity in Pune. Considering that, Steven Smith has played an outstanding hand, unbeaten on 59, having crossed 1000 runs against India in only seven Tests. Course he did offer three changes and India shelled all of them.
