Who said I don't respect them as my equal. I am just not going to stand it when a woman that works thinks she's above and beyond me and that I have to be at her beck and call just because she earns a few dollars. I personally am neutral when it comes to women making a choice about whether they want to work or not, it's a purely individual decision as far as I am concerned. 

But just because someone is working doesn't give them a right to throw the "I am independent" card at me and assume I will be a subservient shemale.

It will be a problem only if she doesn't respect you, or if she thinks you don't respect her.
