That is true. In this case there is much visibility because of what happened.  So everyone wants to contribute and as a result funds exceeded much more than what she expected. There is no proof she requested more money or she is going to use all of it for herself. She has in-laws to care and take care of herself. May be she plans to help others with that money. Without knowing all those, it is not fair to decide the character.
