lazybugger Posted May 30, 2017 Report Posted May 30, 2017 Dalai Lama was the head of an aristocratic society, where lamas (priest class) and the next rung of landowners controlled resources of an entire country. He's still trying to go back to his country and establish that hierarchy. That makes him an upper caste bigot. may be a wise bigot, who can rationalize his backward thoughts, but a bigot nonetheless. lazybugger Posted May 30, 2017 Report Posted May 30, 2017 Dalai Lama had no problem with 'his people' living in extreme poverty while he enjoyed great wealth. Just like upper castes in India. ofcourse DLama was on another level in the hierarchy compared to upper castes in India. He was the king who couldn't defend his kingdom and went crying to India. I think I agree with you on this one. I have read an article a while ago which detailed how the class structure worked in Tibet before Dalai Lama's exile. Quote
