technically this kind of decentralized currency is a great innovation that provides new ways to imagine human society in the future.

ofcourse, people want to make money off this also. But its not designed as an instrument for investment. So it won't matter when you buy it. You can buy it even if it becomes $1m per coin, when you are interested in transacting with it.

selling for profit, now that's different. the more people engage in this kind of trading, the longer it'll take for bitcoin to realise its true purpose. 

I have a feeling that bitcoin will never take off (as a currency).. which also means that it'll be become essentially worthless as a trading instrument sometime in the future (not near).

what motivates a person to be more interested in transacting with decentralized currency, if given a chance to make money of it

what do you think the true purpose of bitcoin/decentralized currency is

I feel either this or some other form of decentralized currency might happen at least in some part of the world with in a couple of decades
