So if he can get hold of some attorney and come to agreement that if the attorney settles 10000$ debt for say 5k he would pay 500 as fee that would be best for him Quote

Suhaas Posted August 1, 2017 Report Posted August 1, 2017 Bro, just keep in mind that whatever is forgiven as a part of debt consolidation is counted as income for tax purposes. For Example, If you owe a creditor/bank $20,000 and you accept a settlement plan of $10,000, the $10,000 that was forgiven counts as income for your tax purposes. ATB to your friend. Quote
