Srimanthudu collected $555000 from Thursday Premieres and $575000 (final number yet to be reported) on Friday. This means gross collections would be around 7.1 Crore on Day 1.

But the official report says that distributor share (not even gross) from US is 8.55 Crore on day 1. This is heights of manipulation when the movie has created a record already.

Fans and PR team of NTR have made lot of hungama on the social media the other day saying that "Jai Lava Kusa" has created Non-Baahubali 2 record on the first day in terms of overall collections. Verdict is out now - the movie has failed to create any new record.

Despite hype and huge number of screens, NTR's triple act has not been able to topple the record created by megastar Chiranjeevi early this year with "Khaidi No 150". 

Chiranjeevi with his comeback movie took in massive opening of Rs 23.50 Cr (share) in Telugu states on the very first day. The worldwide first day collections are about Rs 35 Cr for "Khaidi No 150".

On the other hand, "Jai Lava Kusa" has minted nearly Rs 21 Cr in Telugu states. Even in USA, it took mere 735 k dollars on day 1 (Thursday premiere + premiere) which is much lower than Mahesh Babu's Brahmotsavam's day one collection in USA.

Overall, 'Jai Lava Kusa' has not toppled any movie's record. All the talk of Non-Baahubali2 record is just hogwash. 

At present, the top grossers on the first day are..
