I am not expecting this to over, or counting on it. Please allow me to bust the myth of actually carrying a weapon makes you feel safe. It doesn't. Here are the facts, cold hard facts that cannot be ignored:

1. Owning a gun is linked to higher risks of homicide, suicide, and accidental death by a gun.

2. For every time a gun is used in self-defense in the home, there are 7 murders, 11 suicide attempts, and 4 accidents involving guns in or around a home.

3. 43% of homes with guns and kids have at least one unlocked firearm.

4. In one experiment, one third of 8-to-12-year-old boys who found a handgun pulled the trigger.

These are actual non-partisan scientists who did their research and published their findings in reputed journals.

I agree. Gun for gun is not a solution. Just imagine what will happen if every house hold has a weapon. We already know how fragile teens are. Sandy hook shooting is great example. That incident wouldn't have happened if his mother didn't have that rifle or any other gun.

Country musician flips on gun control after surviving Las Vegas shooting: 'I cannot express how wrong I was'

"I've been a proponent of the 2nd Amendment my entire life. Until the events of last night. I cannot express how wrong I was," he tweeted on Monday. "We actually have members of our crew with CHL [concealed handgun licenses], and legal firearms on the bus. They were useless."

Keeter said his fellow band members didn't dare take out their weapons in self-defense as bullets rained down on the crowd "for fear police might think we were part of the massacre and shoot us."
