Please allow me to bust the myth of actually carrying a weapon makes you feel safe. It doesn't. Here are the facts, cold hard facts that cannot be ignored: 1. Owning a gun is linked to higher risks of homicide, suicide, and accidental death by a gun. 2. For every time a gun is used in self-defense in the home, there are 7 murders, 11 suicide attempts, and 4 accidents involving guns in or around a home. 3. 43% of homes with guns and kids have at least one unlocked firearm. 4. In one experiment, one third of 8-to-12-year-old boys who found a handgun pulled the trigger. citations: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/9715182/ http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0001457502000490 http://injuryprevention.bmj.com/content/9/1/48.full https://academic.oup.com/aje/article/160/10/929/140858/Guns-in-the-Home-and-Risk-of-a-Violent-Death-in http://ajph.aphapublications.org/doi/abs/10.2105/AJPH.90.4.588 http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/107/6/1247?sid=96fc3066-8fc5-4c58-b518-1940841c762b&sso=1&sso_redirect_count=1&nfstatus=401&nftoken=00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000&nfstatusdescription=ERROR%3a+No+local+token These are actual non-partisan scientists who did their research and published their findings in reputed journals. I agree. Gun for gun is not a solution. Just imagine what will happen if every house hold has a weapon. We already know how fragile teens are. Sandy hook shooting is great example. That incident wouldn't have happened if his mother didn't have that rifle or any other gun. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandy_Hook_Elementary_School_shooting

Until the events of last night. I cannot express how wrong I was," he tweeted on Monday. "We actually have members of our crew with CHL [concealed handgun licenses], and legal firearms on the bus. They were useless." Keeter said his fellow band members didn't dare take out their weapons in self-defense as bullets rained down on the crowd "for fear police might think we were part of the massacre and shoot us." rasuko ra samba
