Amber Alert for missing Texas toddler discontinued

RICHARDSON, Texas (KWTX) An Amber Alert for a Richardson toddler who disappeared after her father made her stand outside in the middle of the night as punishment was discontinued Monday afternoon.

The girl has not been found, police said.

The alert was discontinued because authorities have neither a suspect nor vehicle description.

No further details were immediately available.

The Richardson Police Department, which issued the alert Saturday, believed Sherin Mathews, 3, was abducted.

According to an arrest affidavit, her father, Wesley Matthews, 37, forced the girl to stand outside next to a tree at around 3 a.m. Saturday.

When he went outside about 15 minutes later, the girl was gone, the affidavit said.

He waited about five hours before he reported the toddler missing, authorities say.

He was charged with abandoning or endangering a child.

He posted bond and was released from jail on Sunday.

The girl is Asian or Pacific with black hair and brown eyes.

She is 3-feet tall and weighs 22 pounds.

She was last seen wearing a pink top and black pajama bottoms.

"She suffers from developmental issues and has limited verbal communication skills," police said in a Facebook post.

No other information was provided.

very very sad , how can they even ask the girl to stand outside in the middle of night. And he checked back after 15 minutes.How can he even loose sight of his daughter even for punishment 

and that area is known to be infested with coyote
