While Telangana government is trying to project 'Hyderabad' as a safe IT hub, an incident on 19th of this month will blemish the image of our city. A 25-year old Uma Sharma, a Delhi based woman who's flying from Hyderabad to Delhi, took Uber cab to reach airport from Kondapur area. But, the cab driver who picked up her has allegedly misbehaved with the lady while driving on the outer ring road.

According to her Facebook post, Sharma was traveling alone to the airport when the cab driver tried to slow down the car at an empty place on ORR. 'He slowed the car to about 50 kmph and kept glancing back in the rear view mirror,' she wrote in the long Facebook post. The driver's name on Uber portal is just shown as 'B'.

Acting upon her post, the Cyderabad city police took the driver into custody in no time apart from booking him under sexual harassment case. Later Madhapur DCP, who had set up two special teams to find the driver, said that the cab service would also be probed. On Saturday, Uma took to Facebook to reveal that a senior member from Uber-India had promised to rectify all the driver profiles which have a single alphabet.  

Her Facebook post reads, "Today my #Uber driver thought it perfectly normal to masturbate while dropping me to the airport. As soon as we were on the relatively empty ORR in #Hyderabad, he slowed the car to about a 50 kmph and kept glancing back in  the rearview mirror. After about 5mins when I realized what he was doing, I shouted and asked him to stop the car - unfazed, and continuing his act, he very nonchalantly asked me what was wrong. After much screaming, he reluctantly stopped the car, and continued standing on the road until I took a picture of him and threatened to go to the cops."
