I love Moon is a harsh mistress, btw. Its one of Heinlein's best books where he recognizes the limitations of libertarianism (he still doesn't acknowledge the origins of libertarianism as a socialist philosophy) , but Androids ... delves into the question of what it means to be human, and Heinlein's book is about political philosophy.

This is what the latest Blade Runner 2049 movie tried to convey as well, but it is not easy to handle a subject like that and be able to convey it very convincingly. Still admire Denis's effort to get that point through.

Then he should have stuck to the book, not have gone on a tech fantasy. It was an atrocious movie. the original atleast had great visuals and music.

The latest had a great score as well, and very good visuals. I loved the latest Blade Runner, no comparison to the original though. They are both standout movies to me.

He can't obviously make a sequel by totally sticking to the book, even the original didn't stick to the book as much as people thought it would.

Heinlein was one of my favorite authors growing up. He tells stories better than many other sci-fi authors. But I'm a little uncomfortable reading him now. He does come across as a fascist sometimes.

but I still encourage my kids to read his books.

That's why he should have atleast incorporated scenes from the book. The original had nothing to do with the book, apart from the basic plot.
