Hi 

My wife is working as a substitute teacher with her H4 EAD and my H-1B and her H4 visa are in extension from last August and our visa and H4 EAD ends on Dec 30, 2017. We are still waiting for the approval and didn't apply H4 EAD extension yet. Meanwhile I got know that i can apply for H4 EAD extension based on her H4 extension receipt. 

So can she work while H4 EAD extension is in progress, if we have the H4 EAD extension receipt in hand? Please advice.
