This is due to the current administrations hard line anti-immigration stance. As a result, both the applicants and the companies that employ them suffer. The technology companies depend on H1B visa to hire thousands of employees each year from countries like India and China. Often, Indian IT companies act as service providers to maintain and develop applications for US clients like banks, retail, health insurance companies etc. Envoy Global, a technology-oriented immigration services provider, reports that 26 per cent of employers it surveyed have had to delay projects, and 22 per cent of them have relocated work overseas as a result of the current uncertainties in the US immigration system.
