Amaravati: Another boat capsized within a week near Polavaram on Godavari River in West Godavari District, on Tuesday. When the incident happened, there were about 50 passengers on board and some of them successfully reached the banks by swimming and remaining persons are under threat, according to the preliminary reports.

 

The place is identified at Mantoru village in Devipatnam between Polavaram and Devipatnam in West Godavari.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

When the boat was going towards Vadapalem village, it was reportedly hit a hill because of the negligence of the operators. Meanwhile, Home Minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa instructed both East and West Godavari districts Superintendents of Police officials to press the rescue teams immediately. However, with no communication facilities in that region and with no telephone signals available rescue operations are getting delayed. Moreover, it is a herculean task for the police and administration since it is around 8 pm and the area there is pitch dark being a tribal belt.
