Its common to all groups. lol. anyway this is a direct consequence of british laws, and there was always opposition to changing the Hindu part of it. muslims opposing changes to their personal laws is just keeping with the tradition of the region. uttermost Posted October 25, 2018 Report Posted October 25, 2018 Hindu personal laws (which is what it should be called) has almost the same provisions, disallowing a Hindu orphaned child from being adoptd by a muslim family legally. so India is still learning how to do this 'secular' democracy thing right. and we have hindu nationalists moving the country further in the opposite direction.
