I just want to share my experience.

I belong to a village and my father is a farmer so our economic condition was not good till my graduation after that it improved . Basically main sources for our livelihood were our farms.

Then came the BSP govt in state government. Government decided to allot some plots of infertile Farm/Fields to SC/ST (it was called patta in our area) .

So one person was allotted patta beside our farms but soon he started ploughing in area of our farms too when asked he replied 'its mine' .

He also threatened that he would file a case under SC/ST act and would send us to jail.

My father approached SDM and tahseeldar and requested to look into matter but nothing happened ,my father approached to SHO too he simply replied“ don't say even single word to him otherwise I shall put you behind the bars ”

That person who was allotted patta used to say that these people (we) have been enjoying all the benefits and privileges so what's wrong if I capture some of thier field.

It was very tough time for us as we never oppressed or abused any person still we got threatened ,you can imagine how much it may hurt to see someone oppressing you as well as threatening you for the same what he was doing to us.

PS - I don't say SC/ST were treated well in our society and I am not against if government support their upliftment.

But in my opinion 75% times SC/ST act is misused . AND IT BECOMES MORE DENGOURES WHEN ANY BIASED PARTY COMES INTO POWER .

yeah. it seems silly. But i've not met any person and tried to understand his/her reasons for claiming this.

I'm just extrapolating from my experience with trans people, and the severe poverty they live in, that coming out as 'gender fluid' is kinda defeats the purpose.

perhaps there are some upper middle class kids who are doing it. I'm not aware of that demographics. the trans I know are the ones that remind me to pay their bills now and then, and get them freelance jobs if I can.

After reservation, SC/ST act is a draconian law which is widely being misused.

Everyone in my village was complaining that the PDS owner is giving them less amount of Kerosene oil. The 3-liter mug was just of 2.5 liter.

Few of them protested & fought. The PDS owner was a Dalit. He went to Police station and logged FIR that he is being harassed because of him being a Dalit.

SC/ST act was forced into action. This is a non-bailable act. Police immediately arrested few people including my cousin. They were not using Caste-centric words but the Police wrote it in FIR that cast-centric words were used.

They all got bail after one month. The trail lasted for 2 years. The court quashed all the charges and asked the district administration to transfer the PDS of my village to another village.

I’ve no doubt that this law is being misused. It curbs free speech of other people.

I understand that caste-centric words are humiliating for the Dalit community but the act must be revised to remove all possibilities of misuse.

This is utter non-sense of this act, being non-bailable.

I havent met anyone either... im just tlaking about the whole concept... Its childish and I dont think there would be any valid reasons to change your gender everytime you wake up...
