UK-based global policy platform for public servants Apolitical has featured IT and Panchayat Raj Minister Nara Lokesh as one of the world’s most influential young people in the government.

In the listing ‘100 Future Leaders: The World’s Most Influential Young People in Government’, Mr. Lokesh found a place in the top 20 at 16th position among young politicians from various countries.

He is the only Indian leader in the top 20.

Apolitical, supported by the Government of Canada, World Economic Forum and others, draws nominations from across the world and recognises leaders aged 35 or below involved in the field of government and policy, according to a release.

“A strong advocate for the digital economy, he aims to transform the State’s cities into IT hubs and create 100,000 IT jobs in Andhra Pradesh by 2019. He is a trustee of the not-for-profit social welfare organisation the NTR trust,” the report says.
