The film will go on floors from January 18. The music of the sequel to the 1996 blockbuster Indian will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Director Shankar on Tuesday unveiled the first look of upcoming Kamal Haasanstarrer Indian 2. In the poster, an angry Haasan seems all set to take on corruption once again. Sharing the poster of Indian 2 on Twitter, Shankar wrote, “#indian2 Hi everyone! Happy Pongal.” The film will go on floors from January 18. While music of the sequel to the 1996 blockbuster Indian will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander, other crew members include production designer Muthuraj, editor Sreekar Prasad, dialogues writers Jayamohan, Kabilan Vairamuthu and Lakshmi Sarvanakumar, action directors Jack Gill, Tadd Griffith and Peter Hein, lyricist Thamrai Vivek, choreographer Bosco and special make up by Legacy Effects. Kajal Aggarwal, meanwhile, has confirmed her casting in Indian 2. She tweeted, “New journey, new experiences… Excited and looking forward to joining the sets of #Indian2 :)@shankarshanmugh @ikamalhaasan.” The film, bankrolled by Lyca Productions, might also star Nedumudi Venu, Dulquer Salmaan and Simbu. Composer, Anirudh also tweeted about being a part of Indian 2. “Indian 2…Proud to be a part of @shankarshanmugh sir’s vision with Ulaganayagan @ikamalhaasan sir 🥁🥁🥁 Focus on from Jan 18 👌👌👌@LycaProductions Happy Pongal to one and all 😃😃😃,” he tweeted. Producers Lyca Productions had officially announced Indian 2 on November 7, 2018, which was also Kamal Haasan’s 64th birthday. Talking about Indian 2, Shankar had earlier said, “A lot of things happened around us in these years, and all that will be discussed in the sequel. Though I have done many films, Indian 2 will be close to my heart. After finishing every film, I used to think about developing a sequel to Indian, but finally, it materialised this year. Kool_SRG Posted January 15, 2019 Author Report Share Posted January 15, 2019 On the occasion of Pongal, filmmaker S Shankar on Tuesday unveiled the first look poster of his next movie, Indian 2 featuring actor-politician Kamal Haasan. Shankar shared the poster via a tweet and extended Pongal wishes to everyone. He tweeted, “#indian2 Hi everyone! “ Happy Pongal” along with the poster. Via the poster, it was revealed that the project will go on the floors from Friday. A sequel to 1994 Tamil blockbuster Indian, the project also stars Kajal Aggarwal as the leading lady. Having already begun prepping for her role in the film, she told IANS that she sees signing Indian 2 as a step up in her career. “I’m really thrilled to be part of the project. I’m quite excited about my role and the skills I will get to learn on the job. I see signing Indian 2 as a step up in my career,” she said. While promoting his last outing 2.0, Shankar revealed that he recently did a photo-shoot with Haasan for Indian 2. Shankar added that he was thrilled to see Haasan sporting the look of the popular octogenarian character Senapathy, a freedom fighter-turned-vigilante bent on rooting out corruption. Indian 2 will have music by Anirudh Ravichander. The rest of the cast and crew are yet to be revealed. Haasan had earlier said that he would soon quit acting and will spend all his time for his political career and work for the welfare of the people. According to a PTI report, he had said, “I will have to wind up to be effective as a politician... you have to dedicate time totally (for politics).
