that's the downside of corporatization, not the technology. one company dominating the poultry market with one variety of chicken.

what if there are a million strains of mutatted genes? with special features for each? even if one fails, there will be others too. nobody allowed to own genetic strains as patent. you can cook your own stuff at your home.. etc.

anyway, genetics is not an exact science.the underlying biochemical/physical changes are impossible to predict with our current technology., and it'll be many decades and lots of investment in science before everything works out.

people in biotech make all sorts of bullshit claims, but all of them have to be taken with a grain of salt.
