Mitron Posted January 30, 2019 Author Report Posted January 30, 2019 https://newsd.in/hindu-mahasabha-recreates-mahatma-gandhi-assassination-shoots-bapu-effigy/ Aligarh: On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s 71st death anniversary, while the nation hails Gandhi for his contribution to India’s freedom struggle, the Hindu Mahasabha has held Gandhi responsible for India’s partition. In a shocking incident for the nation, few leaders of the Hindu Mahasabha celebrated Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination by shooting Mahatma Gandhi’s effigy and garlanding the statue of Nathuram Godse, a Hindu nationalist who had killed Gandhi in 1948. The shocking incident took place in Aligarh on January 30 where the Hindu Mahasabha’s national secretary Puja Shakun Pandey shot Bapu’s effigy using an artificial gun, following which ‘blood’ oozed out of the effigy. After this, Pandey garlanded the statue of Nathuram Godse and even distributed sweets among her supporters. Meanwhile, President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation on Wednesday in paying tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his 71st death anniversary. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi fondly known as “Father of Nation”, was not just a leader but also a visionary. Mahatma Gandhi, the man who led India to freedom from the oppressive British colonial rule, was assassinated on January 30, 1948, at the age of 78. Nathuram Godse, a Hindu fanatic, was found guilty of murdering him and was executed the following year. Quote
