California is abandoning its plan for a high-speed rail from Los Angeles to San Francisco

In his first State of the State address, California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced that plans for a high-speed rail system in the state may be limited to the Central Valley region. "There simply isn’t a path to get from Sacramento to San Diego, let alone from San Francisco to L.A. I wish there were," Newsom said on Tuesday.
