Ee panikimalina 1-3% enduku babu. They can’t even beat inflation. If investment is for long term -buy a good index mutual fund or ETF. Doing monthly SIP based investment aythie at least 10% vastundi long term.

there is no way you could get 24% return on rental unless its a weird case..are u visiring biscut man?

I invested $25,000 for condo, my payment (inlcuding HOA) is $1803. I get the rent from tenant as $1350.

$1803-1350  = $453 (this is what I pay from my pocket). Out of $1803, $1009 goes to my principal. So my net profit (around $500) goes to Condo payment which I only get at last when I sell the condo, but still it's profit kada.

Let me know if I am doing something different or wrong.

idem lekka uncle...return should be based on your total investment...so lets assume your condo is 125k and 20% of it  25k as down payment...now the rest of 100k you are still obligated to pay no matter what...even taking the best case say your condo is rented 24/7..you total revenue is 12*$1350=$16200

You total out of you pocket=(1803-1009)*12=$9528

Net = 16200-9528=$6672 which is 5.3%

I invested in Betterment, passive robo investing.. not bad so far.. got 3% till now.. but hoping it to be better.

I am also looking to invest in Condo/Townhome for rental income..

Look at roofstock.com where you can buy rental properties which are managed by them. I am also looking into this and yet to invest. Any one bought using this?
