INSAS rifle is not a failure . However it is a generation behind the current assault rifles in use with some developed countries . I t is also not an ideal rifle for low intensity counter insurgency operations particularly in urban areas , INSAAS fires a high velocity but small /lighter bullet which does not have a stopping power of the older rifles firing 7.62/30 BULLETS or stability cum accuracy at ranges beyond 300m .

 

India manufactures all types of weapons. But most of them were used for domestic purposes and not exported. A wide variety of weapons are manufactures in India.
