So, since I don't know anything about coding, I am probably not useful according to you. Interesting.

Unless you want to be in portfolio/program/project management roles PMP will not get you much. If one wants to target Middle level to senior management roles only two things work network and network.  One proven way  is to get to a  elite college MBA,  pursue a top tier management consulting job and then shift  to management level at a company.

You don't have to be a PM to get PMP,  for 4500 contact hours you need to show which area you worked on for example  if you are a hands and implementation person most of the hours will go to implementation side. You just have to demonstrate that the number of hours of work that you're claiming in your exam application were part of a project and that your role can be described using PMI terminology.   There are many places that offer boot camp (4 days class to cover contact hours and then on 5th day you take exam).  Whole renewal thing is big money making business your experience and project management skills counts very little, you can easily buy PDU's online, IMO  PMP renewal is crap.

Do not get me wrong if you think you can score a management role with certifications you are very naive, it helps in the role but does not catapult you there. Contracting work will not add much to resume if you are applying for leadership roles unless you are a management consultant.

Work on building your network  remember "raising tide raises all boats"

It’s been 4 years that I wrote this certification and  PM  role lo work kuda chesa Oka short term project . No certifications gets you a job even in development side  they just  look good on resume & showcase that you have enthusiasm and willingness to learn new things and might get you an interview . Did my own research and know these . Thanks though *n$
