Left without serving notice period is legal action

Hi Friends,

 I Joined CGI in 3rd week of Feb 2019 and left the company after two weeks by informing my project manager and HR (Not in written).

When i joined in CGI there is no bond i signed , when i left i didn't serve 2 months notice period.

Now i got a settlement notice to my home, that i have pay a liable amount 28000/- for not serving notice period,

and also in notice they mentioned if i don't pay the liable amount there will be a legal action.

can any one tell me what to do ? and tell me if i don't pay what will be the consequences.

I heard similar things in the past... unless u signed contract / agreement... u no need to worry.. but better contact attorney ..
