Dont apply for OCI if yow plan to settle down long term in US.

Visa is vaid for 10 years and no need to reissue if you get a new passport.

OCI is only given until validity of passport 5 years max for children.

Every 5 years you need to apply for pp & oci

Without OCI per every 6 months local police station lo attendance veyinchu kovali

Unless the kid plans to stay in India for more than 6 months, apply for OCI - otherwise Visa must be sufficient (10 years visa vastundhi)

You can also apply for OCI in India, the charges are less than what you pay in dollars.

My suggestion, unless the kid is 15+ years applying OCI is waste of money (because you need to renew every 5 years) - short term visits ki visa is good.
