It seems to be driven by competition especially older women fighting it out with younger women. We sell beauty products at one of our places. Most of our customers are over 25/30 something women. They so desperately want to look younger it is crazy how much some are spending. Moreover they are earning enough to afford this stuff. 350 dollars for a bottle of shampoo? No biggie for them. I doubt it will stop them. However, at least when they are seeking out partners a decent amount of honesty is required in terms of looks.
