Well, it sounds interesting. I am sure you could encourage some undergrads in the future and fit in somehow. I know a guy started a lab with primarily undergrads and some Masters students. His program didn't have PhDs. I feel like undergrads are more motivated by application driven research than fundamental science. So I guess if you are using some softwares that they might be interested in, it might work. Well, good luck hiring new students, it's always the hard part.
