snoww Posted September 1, 2019 Report Posted September 1, 2019 తొలినాళ్లలో బందరులో ఆంధ్రాబ్యాంక్ నిర్వహించిన భవనం ఇదే తెలుగోళ్ల బ్యాంక్ యూబీఐలో విలీనం కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వ నిర్ణయంపై నిరసన వెల్లువ ఆంధ్రాబ్యాంక్ ఏర్పాటుతో మచిలీపట్నానికి జాతీయ ఖ్యాతి పట్టాభి ట్రస్ట్ సేవలపై నీలినీడలు మచిలీపట్నం: తొంభై ఆరేళ్ల చరిత్ర కాలగర్భంలో కలసిపోతోంది. శత వసంతాల సంబరాలకు సిద్ధమవుతున్న ఆంధ్రాబ్యాంక్ను యూనియన్ బ్యాంక్ ఆఫ్ ఇండియా (యూబీఐ)లో విలీనం చేస్తున్నట్టు కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం ప్రకటించింది. బందరులో పురుడు పోసుకున్న తెలుగోళ్ల బ్యాంక్ కనుమరుగు కాబోతుందనే విషయాన్ని ఈ ప్రాంత వాసులు జీజీర్ణించుకోలేకపోతున్నారు. ఇది అనాలోచిత నిర్ణయమని బ్యాంక్ ఉద్యోగులు నిరసన వ్యక్తం చేస్తుండగా.. కేంద్రం తీరుపై ప్రజాసంఘాలు విరుచుకుపడుతున్నాయి. ఇదీ ప్రస్థానం బందరులో ఇద్దరు అన్నదమ్ముల మధ్య వచ్చిన ఆర్థిక తగాదాను పరిష్కరించే క్రమంలో స్వాతంత్య్ర సమరయోథుడు భోగరాజు పట్టాభి సీతారామయ్య ఆంధ్రాబ్యాంక్ స్థాపనకు పూనుకున్నారు. స్వాతంత్రోద్యమ కాలంలో ఆర్థిక పటిష్టత అవసరమని గుర్తించిన ఇంకొంతమంది పట్టాభికి వెన్నుదన్నుగా నిలిచారు. అలా 1923 నవంబర్ 20న రూ.లక్ష మూలనిధితో భోగరాజు ఇంట్లోనే ఆంధ్రాబ్యాంక్ కార్యకలాపాలు ప్రారంభయ్యాయి. పొదుపుతో మూలధనం పోగుచేయడం ద్వారా రైతుల ఆర్థిక అవసరాల్ని తీర్చటానికి భోగరాజు రచించిన ప్రణాళికలు ప్రభుత్వాలకు మార్గదర్శకంగా నిలిచాయి. 1980లో రెండో దఫాగా చేపట్టిన బ్యాంకుల జాతీయకరణతో ఆంధ్రాబ్యాంక్ ప్రభుత్వ రంగ బ్యాంక్గా అవతరించింది. ఉమ్మడి ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్కు లీడ్ బ్యాంక్గా వ్యవహరిస్తూ వ్యవసాయ రంగానికి ఇతోధిక సేవలందిస్తూ వస్తోంది. 1981లో క్రెడిట్ కార్డులను మన దేశానికి పరిచయం చేసిన బ్యాంక్గా ఇది పేరొందింది. పెట్టుబడులను రాబట్టడంలో ఆసియాలోనే ప్రథమ స్థానంలో నిలిచింది. పట్టాభి జ్ఞాపకాలు పదిలం బ్యాంక్ ఆర్థిక పటిష్టతకు పునాదులు వేసిన డాక్టర్ భోగరాజు పట్టాభి సీతారామయ్య జ్ఞాపకాలు మచిలీపట్నంలో నేటికీ పదిలంగానే ఉన్నాయి. బ్యాంక్లో డబ్బు దాచేందుకు ఉపయోగించిన ఇనుప బీరువా పట్టాభి రోడ్లోని వ్యవస్థాపక బ్యాంక్లో నేటికీ ఉంది. భోగరాజు నివసించిన ఇంట్లో గాంధీ కస్తూర్బా సేవా సమితి పేరుతో సేవా కార్యక్రమాలు కొనసాగిస్తున్నారు. ఆంధ్రాబ్యాంక్ ఆర్థిక సహకారంతో పట్టాభి సీతారామయ్య ట్రస్ట్ ద్వారా యువతకు ఉపాధి, ఉద్యోగ అవకాశాల కల్పనలో శిక్షణ ఇస్తున్నారు. ఆంధ్రాబ్యాంక్ యూనియన్ బ్యాంక్ ఆఫ్ ఇండియాలో విలీనం కానుండటంతో పట్టాభి ట్రస్ట్ ద్వారా సేవా కార్యక్రమాలు, ఆంధ్రాబ్యాంక్ గ్రామీణాభివృద్ధి, ఉపాధి, ఉద్యోగ కల్పన శిక్షణా కార్యక్రమాలు కొనసాగుతాయా లేదా అనేది చర్చనీ యాంశమైంది. తెలుగోడి బ్యాంక్ లేకుండా చేస్తారా? తెలుగోడు స్థాపించిన బ్యాంక్ను లేకుండా చేయటం బాధాకరం. స్వాతంత్రోద్యమ కాలంలో ఆర్థిక భరోసా కలి్పంచేందుకు ఏర్పాటు చేసిన ఈ బ్యాంక్కు ఎంతో చరిత్ర ఉంది. – గుడివాడ వెంకట గున్నయ్యశెట్టి, వ్యవస్థాపక డైరెక్టర్ Quote

The big reason would be to absorb write off’s and Bad loans, and ability to lend billions. We still look to West for multi billion dollar lending and with bigger banks, we can find the needed capital in Mumbai itself...Especially infrastructure projects which have slow returns, its important to have a lender who can be lenient with lending with government backing, ability to raise bonds etc... This is the main reason i think dena bank 12% bad loans and is being forced a merger into bank of baroda (5% bad loans), national avg of bad loans 9%. All this exercise is more to streamline things and write off loss and compensate bad performing banks with better performing banks. imo eventually they will start divesting to private players to raise money and bring about a change in the culture like here in the USA and the world everywhere. Also tje indian PSU banks have failed to expand outside of India or even extend business partnerships or loans outside of india to further their sustainability in the long term.. their chindi attitude is evident their product and service offerings Quote
