They don’t do anything special. All they do is stay login and grab a slot as soon as someone cancels it. Even you can do that if you are ready to spend few hours a day.

Not sure what you're laughing at. From my experience visa dates vere categories vi vere kanipistaayi..  Like H1B ki oka dates open avthayi, H4 ki vere dates open aithayi... Likewise for Visitors visa..
