I think you are looking at it the wrong way... i dont think it is about your mom.. i think she is trying to tell you that she needs your help at home..

taking care of the little ones all day, and lack of sleep takes a big toll on their physical and mental health.. they become vulnerable and agitated for even the simplest of the things... all it needs is a small trigger... at least you managed to get out of the house and take time off from this... does she ever get to do it? imagine doing office work all day all week... 

I am not even talking about hormonal changes or psychological issues post pregnancy... 

na close friend ki twins unnaaru... 1 year old... they both look so miserable bcoz they dont have time for themselves... to go shopping or watch a movie.. or even eat and sleep properly... they fight a lot for a simple issue like who has to put out trash... we sometimes take care of the twins so that they can go out for a dinner or a movie sometimes...

koncham kastham aina , go to some shopping with her and eat outside so that she does not have to cook

that should cool things off a bit

and the biggest mantra , say , whether you are at fault or not , the arguments , pain , fighting , mental tension is not worth it bro , say and move on , she will realize it herself that she went overboard

She probably was exhausted and was looking for a slightest reason to vent out her frustration
