Posted by Avenue.in on October 29, 2018 | Amaravati, CRDA | 0 Amaravati: The AP Secretariat will be the tallest Secretariat in the world with 50 floors. The temporary Secretariat was constructed at Velagapudi and is operational. The permanent Secretariat will be constructed in the core capital area and will have five towers. The first, second, third and fourth towers will have 40 floors each and the fifth will have 50 floors. This permanent Secretariat will be equipped with “world class facilities” including a rooftop helipad. The APCRDA finalised tenders for the five towers of the permanent Secretariat. According to APCRDA officials, the construction firm of Shapoorji Pallonji got the contract for erecting the first and second towers, L& T the third and fourth towers, and NCC Limited bagged the contract for the fifth tower. L&T and Shapoorji Pallonji were involved in the construction of the temporary Secretariat at Velagapudi. The AP Secretariat on the banks of the Krishna River in Amaravati will be 212 metres tall. It is also said to be the first Secretariat with a rooftop helipad, which will cost Rs 4,000 crore. The ground clearing work for all five towers has been completed and the raft foundation work was also recently completed. The completion date is May 2019. APCRDA commissioner Ch Sreedhar said that the metropolitan government building in Tokyo, Japan, is 243 metres tall and is the tallest government Secretariat in the world. The new AP Secretariat will be the second tallest in the world. He further said that the diagrid structural system, a new technology, will be used in the construction whereby columns are avoided to get more space. Quote
