New Delhi: A bench of three Supreme Court judges will today hear as many as 143-old petitions that have been filed regarding the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) which has irked nationwide protests including the national capital. A bench, headed by Chief Justice S A Bobde, which had issued notice to the Centre on December 18 on various pleas is likely to hear a batch of 143 petitions, including those filed by the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) and Congress leader Jairam Ramesh.

According to reports, while most of the petitions filed in the apex court challenge the constitutional validity of the newly passed legislation, some of them seek a declaration that the act is constitutional. Some of the petitions filed later have also sought a stay on the operation of the legislation which came into force on January 10.

As long as you don’t cross the line my dear friend, you are welcome to criticize as much as you can.

It does not take much for me to hurl an abuse at you, but I don’t believe in personal abusing.

I hope you continue to criticize going further at every opportunity as long as you don’t cross the line...

There is nothing personal there. So many parents, grand parents, children were kept in detention camps like animals by Mosha under the pretext they dont have papers. You dont feel for them at all - instead you throw the rule book "parliament has every right to make laws" to their face. I just did the same to you. Take this as an oppurtunity to offload the $hit you carry in your brain.

Any guess what will be the judgement ?

@Gnan_anna @Android__Halwa @Chinna84 @DummyVariable

As expected, no stay order on CAA.

Its a law made in parliament and I still don’t understand why judiciary will even give a stay order on a bill that has been passed in Parliament.
