Sources told The New York Times that intelligence officials warned House lawmakers that Russia had interfered with the 2020 campaign in hopes of getting Donald Trump re-elected in a briefing that reportedly angered the president. According to those familiar with the situation, Joseph Maguire, the outgoing acting director of national intelligence, was "berated" by President Trump for allowing the disclosure to take place and was later replaced by Germany ambassador Richard Grenell.
